Shampoo bar ingredients
Our shampoo bar is formulated using Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Argania Spinosa (Argan) Oil, Perfume-HY6160904-1, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glycerin, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Stearic Acid, Propylene Glycol, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, PEG-8, FD&C Red No. 33, FD&C Blue No. 1.
How to use a shampoo bar
First, get rid of dead hair and knots. Then, wash your hair with the shampoo bar. You can wash your hair using the shampoo bar in two ways. You could lather the bar onto wet hands or rub the shampoo bar directly on your wet hair, just like liquid shampoos. Wet the shampoo bar before applying it and gently massaging it into your wet hair and scalp. When finished, rinse thoroughly.
If you have long hair, we recommend wetting just part of it first, as this will help keep some of the product out of the tangles at the back of your head. Work the bar into a lather and rinse thoroughly! Our Argan Oil shampoo bar does not produce big bubbles but creates a luxurious lather that adds shine to hair.
For best results, massage the shampoo bar into the scalp for 1-2 minutes to work into a lather so that it lifts away dirt and excess oil from your scalp, then rinse hair clean.
Repeat if desired - it's safe because there are no harsh sulfates or chemicals!
The Body and Earth brand shampoo bar can also be used on its own as a gentle cleansing bar without using conditioner afterward!
How is a shampoo bar different from soap?
The main difference is that a shampoo bar is made using shampoo ingredients, not soap ingredients. Soap uses a lye solution and oils. But a shampoo bar is made by mixing oil with an alkali solution (usually sodium hydroxide or sodium cocoyl isethionate) which causes it to lather.
Why does my hair feel like it has been stripped after shampooing?
Sulfates are the primary cleaning agent in regular shampoo that leaves your hair feeling clean - squeaky clean. Shampoo bars don't contain harsh sulfates, so they don't leave your hair stripped or dry!
If you use too much shampoo bar at once, though, you may experience some drying, depending on your hair type - but one swipe should be enough to get your hair feeling super clean without any harsh chemicals!
That's why our customers love shampoo bars! Our products featured are natural hair products that use a blend of plant-based ingredients like argan oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and aloe vera, which don't dry out or damage your hair.
Do you need to use a conditioner after a shampoo bar?
Is the conditioner still necessary? No, you can use a shampoo bar without conditioner as most shampoo bars clean and condition any hair type. If you need more conditioning, there are natural conditioner bars available for extra pampering.
How do you store (and dry) a shampoo bar?
After using your shampoo bar, store it in a container of some sort. Body and Earth supply a travel tin perfect for storing your shampoo bar. We recommend a shampoo bar tin or bag so that the bar can dry if you're on the go!
Are shampoo bars good for your hair?
Yes, shampoo bars are great for your hair! Shampoo bars are ideal for people who have curly, wavy, or dry hair, as shampoo bars contain no harsh sulfates and don't strip the natural oils from hair.
Which are the best shampoo bars?
We love our shampoo bar because it contains Argan Oil, a natural antioxidant. It conditions and softens the hair and cleanses, leaving your locks shiny and voluminous. It also smells fantastic - like a fresh ocean breeze!
The best shampoo bars work well with all hair types, but we've found that our Argan Oil shampoo bar is perfect for people that suffer from fine to medium density straight or curly/wavy hair. There are also bars designed for those with naturally oily scalps.
Other popular shampoo bar ingredients include cocoa butter, essential oils, coconut oil, castor oil, mango butter, aloe vera, olive oils, and jojoba oil.
What about a fragrance-free bar?
A fragrance-free shampoo bar is great for people who are sensitive to smells. Also, if you're trying to cut down your exposure to chemicals or a family member has severe allergies.
The downside of fragrance-free bars is that they don't lather up like traditional shampoos and conditioners, so you may use more than the average amount when washing your hair.
They also don't last as long as their counterparts because there's no moisturizer in them - but this might be an issue only if someone has dry skin or scalp issues that need attention other than just removing oil from the surface of your hair.
The solution is to try conditioner bars that add extra moisture to your hair.
How long does it take for hair to adjust to a shampoo bar?
Not long, It typically takes a few weeks for the hair to adjust to a shampoo bar.
Some people find that their hair feels oily or heavy after using a shampoo bar, but this usually goes away after a few washes. Others find that their scalp itches or becomes dry after using a shampoo bar. Again, this usually goes away after a few washes.
Are shampoo bars good for thinning hair?
Yes, a shampoo bar is ideal for thinning or fine hair.
Shampoo bars are a great option because they don't contain any harsh soap chemicals that can strip your hair of its natural oils and lead to even more breakage.
They also provide deep-cleansing action and hydrate, which is perfect if you're looking for an alternative to traditional shampoos.
Are shampoo bars good for coarse and frizzy hair?
Yes, shampoo bars are perfect for coarse and frizzy hair. They don't contain any harsh sulfates or silicones. These can strip the hair of its natural oils.
Shampoo bars also tend to be made from plant-based ingredients like cocoa butter, coconut oil, castor oil, aloe vera, and similar natural ingredients. So there's no chance of an allergic reaction like you might get with traditional shampoo brands.
This type of bar will give your locks a deep clean without drying them out, leaving them feeling silky soft, shiny, and smelling fresh after your shower!
Hydrating shampoo bar vs. liquid shampoo
A shampoo bar is usually sulfate-free, made of natural ingredients, which means no harsh chemicals that strip hair of its natural oil and cause breakage.
A shampoo bar also leaves your scalp feeling clean because it lathers for longer than liquid shampoos do, meaning there's more contact time with the scalp - again increasing absorption rates.
If you want to use something quick and easy, go for either an oil-based or gel-type shampoo but avoid anything containing silicone or petrolatum (both known irritants).
A shampoo bar can be great for people with oily hair because they help remove excess oils from the scalp. They're also ideal for travel because they don't take up much space in your bag.
A liquid shampoo tends to be more moisturizing than a shampoo bar, especially if you buy a shampoo specifically designed for dry or damaged hair. However, liquid shampoos can be heavier and more difficult to rinse out of your hair than a shampoo bar.
